About Jennifer Lorenzen, CPA, MST

Jen is a seasoned tax professional with over 30 years of experience in tax advisory, return preparation, accounting, and business management. She now specializes in tax advisory for rental real estate investors, trusts, and taxable estates.

Driven by her commitment to professional development, Jen earned a Graduate Certificate in Estate Planning from Golden Gate University, an institution known for its rigorous, skills-based education in accounting, law, finance, and taxation. She is also an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the California Society of CPAs, ProVisors, and the San Gabriel Estate Planning Council, where she is a past president.

Beyond her professional commitments, Jen is actively engaged in her community. Outside work, Jen loves to explore as an avid reader, keeping up with the reading lists of two book clubs, hiking locally and in National Parks, and traveling to discover new destinations or revisit favorites like California’s coastal wine country. One of her most memorable adventures was her honeymoon in New Zealand, where she and her husband went black water rafting in the Waitomo Caves to see bioluminescent worms and bungee jumping off the famous Kawarau Bridge in Auckland. A passionate theatergoer, she especially loves musicals, with Once Upon a Mattress starring Sutton Foster being a recent favorite.

Why I’m Here

I love making people’s work lives easier, and I love making smiles happen, too. I thrive behind the scenes, helping the team stay organized, on track, and supported–usually while tossing in a joke or two to keep the mood light. I’m here because I believe in the work we do and the people doing it.

What I Do

I manage the day-to-day operations that keep things running smoothly, whether that involves coordinating calendars, managing logistics, or ensuring clients and team members have what they need.

What I Like

Outside the office, I’m either at the gym, sipping something new from a local coffee shop, or in the kitchen baking up a new recipe just for fun. I’m also a big fan of travel. I am always dreaming up my next international adventure.

Why I’m Here

I have always loved taking on big tasks and learning new skills along the way. I’m not afraid to ask questions or look in different avenues for answers. I believe that the best way to help others is to put oneself through adversity, see what challenges and triumphs arise from the journey, and then pass that knowledge on to the next person seeking help.

What I Do

I conduct hands-on research on new programs to determine what would work best for the firm and our clients. I like to think of myself as the team’s Swiss Army Knife – helping with all the extra tasks that come up on a day-to-day basis.

What I Like

The four big things to know about me are that I love reading long, detailed books, I relish playing games with my friends, I enjoy all the detail that comes with planning parties, and I treasure every moment I get to spend with my partner and our two cats. Quite recently, I have begun to get a kick out of putting together difficult puzzles, so there may soon be a fifth big thing to know about me!
